Washington is the only state named after a president and the only state named after a founding father. So it's fitting that on this Independence Day, when the sounds of fireworks end, the streets empty, and the sun rises, we should reflect that our nation will be one year away from celebrating its 250th Anniversary.
At Washington Policy Center (WPC), we will also be focused on making Washington state freer, moving the state toward greater accountability, and utilizing the principles of free enterprise to make government work better for all. The state named after the founding father of this country should embrace the principles that gave this country the longevity and prosperity we see today.
