Hi John,

As you may have heard, the far-right Supreme Court majority just enabled the Trump administration to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education — firing thousands of workers and cutting critical resources that millions of kids rely on. 

John — this is a direct attack on everything that makes our country great. 

It would be a complete disaster for our children – gutting support for literacy programs, special education, and initiatives for low-income and rural communities.

The damage will set back an entire generation of kids. 

It’s yet another authoritarian power grab that allows him to illegally dismantle any federal agency he doesn’t like. 

All to serve radical special interests who want to dismantle the very idea of public education in this country and privatize our schools. 

I’m angry. I’m fired up. I’m fighting back.

Look, I’m a proud product of public schools in Peoria’s District 150. 

My parents immigrated to the U.S. from India when I was a baby to give us a better life, but we fell on hard times.

But thanks to incredible public education, I was able to go from a kid living in public housing and depending on SNAP to a law school graduate, Congressman, and candidate for Senate.

That’s the kind of story that our country is all about. And it’s why I’ll never give up in my fight to defend public education from Trump’s devastating attacks.

The far-right Supreme Court may let Trump have his way – but that doesn’t mean we have to stand by and let it happen. 

If we’re going to put a stop to it, we NEED to elect STRONG Democrats and finally flip the Senate blue.
