This week, the Small Business Committee unanimously passed my bipartisan legislation to modernize the Small Business Administration (SBA). I also led 50+ Members of Congress in letters to the Social Security Administration (SSA) and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to protect constituent casework claims and ensure our taxpayers get the money they are owed. In addition, I joined House Democrats to publicly call for the release of the Epstein files for transparency and accountability. Finally, I was able to recognize some constituent excellence on the House Floor and celebrated Lesley Rooke, a Monrovia resident who completed 50 marathons in all 50 states.

Trump and DOGE’s layoffs are affecting more than just the federal workforce—they have delayed millions of dollars in casework requests for our constituents. Congressional casework is essential to ensure our taxpayers get their refunds, our seniors get their checks, and our constituents get prompt and accurate responses from federal agencies. These critical services have become collateral damage in Trump’s careless mission to destroy our federal agencies and decimate their workforce. I led 50+ House Democrats in letters to the IRS and SSA to ensure our constituent casework isn’t affected by the reckless reductions in force (RIFs).

My bipartisan bill, the Small Business Administration (SBA) IT Modernization Reporting Act of 2025, passed unanimously out of the Small Business Committee this week! I’m looking forward to seeing this commonsense legislation on the House floor. My bill will upgrade the Small Business Administration’s IT practices, ensuring the agency can keep pace with the needs of today’s small businesses.

This week on the House floor, I proudly honored Lesley Rooke, a Monrovia resident in CA-31 who completed 50 marathons in all 50 states! Her dedication, stamina, and drive is truly inspiring.

I joined the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce at their Legislative Luncheon today. It was great to see so many business leaders from across the community come together. 

Congratulations to Diamond Care Concierge in Monrovia and B's Luxury Closet in San Dimas, CA-31’s newest small businesses. As a member of the Small Business Committee, I am fighting for the future of small businesses across Southern California.
