In Gaza, Mayar* was panic-stricken to leave her house to find food – terrified her family would be dead when she got back.

The constant threat of bombing forced her to flee to a neighboring country, along with more than 60,000 Palestinians. Now, in Egypt, Save the Children is helping Mayar and her five children recover from the devastation of war. She says life in Egypt is “bright and beautiful.”
With help from our supporters, we’re providing essential services like cash assistance, health care and mental health support for children and their families who’ve fled Gaza.
And today, your gift can go 3X* as far for families in crisis like Mayar’s. By making a donation to our Summer Matching Gift Challenge, you’ll send relief and hope to children in Gaza and around the world that a brighter tomorrow is possible.

Save the Children gave cameras and scrapbooks to young Palestinians displaced by the war to see the world through their eyes.
Save the Children is providing mental health support to Mayar’s children as they heal from the devastation of war. “My children have started talking, they started playing and sharing their stories,” she shares. Your support helps keep programs like these running across the globe, helping children express themselves through art, dance, therapy and play.
But with the majority of governmental funding decimated, we need your support now more than ever. For parents and caregivers around the world who are trying to protect their children from war, hunger, disease and other crises, your support is a lifeline.
Here are just a few examples of what your gift can do:
-
In Gaza, despite extreme challenges with access, we’ve reached 1.7 million people with essential services including food, clean water, child-friendly spaces and mental health support, education, medical supplies and health care.
-
In Myanmar, we’ve reached more than 111,000 people with shelter, cash assistance, emergency kits, clean water and health care following a 7.7 magnitude earthquake in March.
-
In the United States, we’ve provided 28,349 people with cash assistance, safe places to play and essential items after wildfires destroyed California communities in January.
