Since Donald Trump’s second presidential term started, more than 400 lawsuits have been filed against his administration.
As the New York Times notes, “dozens of judges appointed by both Democratic and Republican presidents have ruled against the administration. And they have often used tough, blunt language.”
But what’s most startling is this:
That’s right — the Trump administration has ignored 1 out of 3 court orders.
According to an analysis by the Washington Post, out of 337 lawsuits, judges ruled against the administration in 165 cases, and the White House has defied 57 of them, or 35 percent.
This is not normal or okay, John: in fact, legal experts say it’s unprecedented.
To make matters worse, it seems the Trump team knows they can get away with violating the courts without repercussions, because judges have hesitated to hold them in contempt out of fear of a constitutional crisis.
