Building Back and Moving Forward
John,
This week has been another reminder of what strong, focused conservative
leadership can deliver. Governor Braun continues to work hand-in-hand with
President Trump to put Hoosiers first—whether that means securing relief in
times of crisis or bringing federal resources closer to the people they serve.
Following devastating storms that brought widespread flooding and tornado
damage to communities across Indiana earlier this spring. In the immediate
aftermath of the storms, Governor Braun declared a state of emergency in 18
counties and activated the Indiana National Guard to assist 41 counties with
recovery. Governor Braun has been advocating for affected Hoosiers since, and
that advocacy paid off this week. On Tuesday, President Trump announced $15.1
million in federal disaster relief to help families and communities continue
the hard work of rebuilding. These funds will provide real, tangible
support—assisting in the restoration of homes and public infrastructure and
ensuring that local governments aren’t left bearing the cost alone.
Yesterday, Governor Braun announced another major win for Indiana agriculture.
As part of President Trump's nationwide effort to bring more accountability and
responsiveness to federal agencies, the U.S. Department of Agriculture will
establish a regional hub right here in Indianapolis—one of just five selected
states. This move recognizes Indiana’s vital role as a national leader in
agriculture and ensures that Hoosier farmers will have stronger, more direct
access to the USDA programs and officials they rely on.
As always, thank you for being a part of our team. Please feel free to reach
out if there's anything I can assist with.
