Friend, would it surprise you to hear that Texas has NEVER had a Black Senator?
With this campaign and grassroots supporters like you standing with me, I'm hoping to change that.
|
Representation – like our democracy – is a work in progress. We can and must do better. If you agree, I hope you'll chip in today to help me win this race and be a voice for ALL Texans in the Senate.
|
All the way back in 1870, Hiram Rhodes Revels, a pastor and State Senator from Mississippi, was elected as the first Black U.S. Senator. Since then, we've come a long way as a country.
But it's no secret that people of color have long faced obstacles like discrimination, lower pay, higher job instability – not to mention the racist voter suppression laws that Texas Republicans like John Cornyn and Ken Paxton have championed, which make it harder for certain folks to vote.
The bottom line is this: We deserve a government that reflects the people it represents. I'm ready to fight for Texans from all backgrounds and bring a new generation of leadership to Washington, and early polls show Texans are with me – but I need you with me, too, friend.
|
The leading Republicans in this race have already raised millions of dollars thanks to right-wing donors. I'm running a different kind of campaign. I'm not taking a dime of corporate money, which means to win, I need a massive movement of grassroots supporters like YOU to fuel this campaign to victory.
With my very first end-of-month deadline around the corner, can I count on you to chip in $5 or more to help me become the first Black Senator from Texas and 15th in our country's history – but more importantly, to deliver the leadership Texans need and deserve?

Together, we can make history. Thank you for being a part of it.
Colin
