It would be great if we could claim victory and move on to other important health care issues. But as the great William Buckley once said, “There are no lost causes because there are no gained causes.” In other words, no victory is permanent, and we must fight to keep what we’ve won. I brought that up because of this quote from a Politico story: Many of these Medicaid changes will take a couple of years to fully implement. Hospitals “are already gearing up to use the next two and a half years to persuade lawmakers to rescind” them. Here’s the bottom line: Even before these reforms are fully implemented, the special interests will try to kill them! And don’t count them out. Instead of playing only defense, we need to also go on offense and give the special interests that dominate our rigged health care system other free-market reforms to worry about. That’s why it is so important we keep pushing our Personal Option plan in Congress. The word out of D.C. is that Congress may try to pass another reconciliation bill, which would present a fantastic opportunity to pass more parts of the Personal Option. This would expand: - Health savings accounts,
- telehealth,
- and direct primary care even more than the OBBB did.
There is still a LOT more to do, and we need to keep the bloated health care system on the defensive! You can help by signing our Personal Option petition, showing Congress that Americans support reforms like HSAs, telehealth, and DPC. Please take 60 seconds to sign our petition — every signature we bring to lawmakers strengthens the case for these critical changes. |
