Hello Friends and Fellow West Texans,
Welcome back to my West Texas Wrap-Up. Please remember to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube for regular updates on how I am serving the people of West Texas!
A Big Beautiful Win for West Texas
It was great being joined by local leaders, elected officials, farmers and ranchers, law enforcement, military personnel, pro-life and second amendment advocates, and constituents across West Texas to celebrate the tremendous wins secured in the One Big Beautiful Bill – legislation I passed that was signed into law by President Trump on Independence Day.
In Lubbock, we had a great roundtable discussion highlighting everything from tax relief for working families to a stronger ag safety net for our producers, to deregulating our energy economy, to funding for detention, deportation, and border wall completion, to historic protections for the unborn and Second Amendment rights.
I’m proud to have led the fight for these generational conservative reforms.
In Abilene, we had a terrific discussion celebrating that in addition to locking in historic tax relief for families and small businesses, my bill ensures our airmen at Dyess have all the tools to continue their air superiority and provides resources to border security and immigration enforcement.

Broad Support for the Big Beautiful Bill
The hard-fought wins in the One Big Beautiful Bill enjoy overwhelming support across party lines.
17 key reforms in the bill have earned majority approval among Americans who are familiar with the legislation, including $1.3 trillion in spending cuts supported by 67% of Americans and nearly 60% of Democrats.
That is a clear mandate to rein-in Washington’s wasteful spending, restore economic freedom, and invest in America’s security.
Thank you, Mr. Speaker!
Key National Security Bill Passes House, Delivers Resources for Dyess AFB
The House passed the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, which provides the Department of Defense a total discretionary allocation of $831.5 billion to restore peace through strength and advance the America First agenda.
The bill invests in America’s military superiority, shapes a more efficient and effective Department of Defense, protects from threats at America’s border, and takes care of our troops and their families.
I’m proud to support this legislation that also provides funding for Dyess Air Force base and the accelerated production of the B-21 bomber – our nation’s next generation stealth bomber that will be proudly stationed in the Big Country. This includes $3.8 billion for B-21 procurement and $2.1 billion for the continued development of the B-21 Bomber.
The best way to ensure lasting peace is through a strong, robust military force, and that’s exactly what this bill does.
Honoring the Texas Flood Victims
People across the country are mourning the unimaginable and heartbreaking tragedy of the catastrophic floods in Central Texas.
I spoke on the House floor to honor the lives lost — including several from my own district — and to ask my fellow Americans to join me in prayer.

Republicans are Standing Up for Rural America
The Trump Administration and Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins are delivering long-overdue relief to American farmers reeling from natural disasters over the past two years.
Our hard-working farmers and ranchers are the lifeblood of West Texas and backbone of our nation, providing the food, fuel, and fiber needed to keep our economy strong and country secure. Unfortunately, while West Texas producers faced years of record droughts, the Biden administration grossly mismanaged federal disaster relief by illegally distributing funds based on race and sex, causing payments to be significantly delayed. Thankfully, President Trump and Secretary Rollins understand the urgency of the situation and the common-sense notion that since disasters don’t discriminate, neither should the federal assistance. I am proud to fight alongside the Trump administration to swiftly deliver this desperately needed relief to Rural America.
This announcement follows Secretary Rollins’ comprehensive plan to deliver the total amount of Congressionally appropriated $30 billion in disaster assistance to farmers and ranchers this year. These programs will complement the forthcoming state block grants that USDA is working with 14 different states to develop.
