Dear Network and Friends,
As many of us enjoy a well-deserved summer break, taking a moment from the numerous crises affecting our world—from the devastating horrors in Gaza to the ongoing war in Ukraine, and the recent conflict on the Thailand-Cambodia border—we recognize these are overwhelming times for activists and civil society alike, everywhere. We're all trying to do the best we can to keep-up. For this reason we want to share with you a series of initiatives and opportunities that we've launched and that have the precise scope to offer shared and meaningful spaces for collective actions.

Updating the European Address Book Against Racism
While we're proud to share that we hold the 1st meeting of our Working Group of the New EU Pact on Migration & Asylum, which is already setting tasks and deadlines, we're also very much eager to announce have finally developed the updating process for our European Address Book Against Racism.
This is one of our most ambitious and valuable initiatives, aimed at creating the largest searchable digital contact directory of European civil society actors and state/international agencies, featuring filters by geography, profile, association type, activity tags, and collaboration interests. It will also include related partner directories to reduce searching time and foster new connections.
It was last published in 2014 and we are renewing it after more than a decade to provide a vital networking platform amid growing hostility toward related initiatives. It previously served as a resource for networking, project partnerships, funding options, and listing anti-discrimination bodies across regions and levels. Since February, the secretariat has updated and verified contacts from an 11-year-old database, identifying 4,629 active organisations out of over 9,000.
To publish the updated directory, consent is requested from organisations. For this reason, if you intend to be featured, we kindly ask you to fill this Registration Form, allowing you to control the information shared publicly.
The deadline for registration is October 10th.
Please take into account that every single organisation we are contacting about The Address Book at this stage is one that we have identified through our research this year. We would be therefore truly honoured by your participation, so we can follow through on our goal, and provide you with the best service possible. To clarify any possible doubt, we're having three main Info Sessions until the end of the registration deadline.
1.) August 18th 06:00 PM CET. - Please Register here.
2.) September 18th 06:00 PM CET. - Please Register here.
3.) October 6th 06:00 PM CET. - Please Register here.
For the case that neither of the suggested sessions would align with your schedule, or you would have a specific follow up, please feel free to contact our network correspondent Vladyslava Vasylieva, under [email protected] for any remaining clarifications.

UNITED Rebranding Proposals
To reflect the many exciting developments underway, we are currently updating our visual identity and overall communications. As part of this process, we have begun discussions about rebranding UNITED, starting with its name. These conversations started in spring and were shared during our Town Hall Meeting on July 10th. We aim to finalize the rebranding soon and would greatly appreciate everyone’s feedback to guide our decisions. Please share your thoughts by completing this Google Form, which will remain open until August 17th. Don’t miss the opportunity to have your say!!

Welcoming our new Head of Advocacy: Bence László Gonda
As mentioned in our previous E-News, our Advocacy Team is entering an exciting new phase and so we are pleased to introduce Bence, our new Head of Advocacy, who will be working alongside Eunice to oversee our Experts & Delegates and continue driving our advocacy efforts forward. Please read Bence's words to the Network and join us in welcoming him to the team!
It is with deep honor that I step into the role of Head of Advocacy at UNITED. This humbling responsibility is not mine alone but shared with you, as we continue to give voice to the voiceless and to stand for the principles that have defined UNITED across decades.
I am committed to ensuring that our advocacy—both within our network and in the broader public sphere—reflects UNITED’s values as anti-racism network. In this new chapter, I will work relentlessly with you to amplify your initiatives and strengthen the collective voice we hold when we stand together for justice and equality.
The legacy of UNITED is a living commitment. It is built each day through your defiance, your courage, and your actions. I invite you to continue shaping this legacy with together, and also for holding us accountable and guiding our collective efforts to meet the challenges ahead.
I look forward to serving You and this Network, to listening closely, and to building our advocacy together.
In Solidarity,
Bence László Gonda
