This can’t fly under the radar any longer.

As Illinoisans prepare for the new school year, the Trump Administration is withholding nearly $218 MILLION in critical funding for education in our state.

It’s not controversial: Our students deserve fully funded schools. These are resources they need to succeed, for our state to succeed, and our country to succeed.

It’s appalling that our leaders would rather hand out millions in tax breaks to their billionaire donors than fund our public schools – especially in rural areas that need it the most.

This isn’t the only attack on education we’re facing. The Supreme Court has greenlit Trump’s plan to dismantle the Department of Education.

I want you to know that I’m fighting every day in Congress for education – because it’s the backbone of our country. Kids deserve a chance to succeed in every school district and tax bracket.
