I'm Terry Virts. I'm running to represent Texas in the United States Senate.

I’ve survived combat missions over Iraq. I’ve floated in space, hundreds of miles above the Earth, where one wrong move means you don’t come home.

So, believe me when I say this: We are in a crisis, and the individuals who are supposed to help us out of this mess are unprepared to confront the threat we face.

Too many in the Democratic establishment are acting like it’s still 2012. Chuck Schumer is sending strongly written letters like we’re just one bipartisan brunch away from saving the country.

They don’t get what it takes to deal with a crisis.

But I do. And I’m not afraid to say it: We need a new kind of leadership.

I’m not a party insider. I’m not interested in cocktail parties and cable hits. I’m here to fight for the people of Texas and defend this country from the chaos we face today.
