United States: Health officials in DuPage County have confirmed Illinois’ third human case of West Nile virus this year. The latest infection involves a Glen Ellyn resident in their 50s, who began showing symptoms in mid-July, according to a statement released Thursday by the DuPage County Health Department.

Earlier, the CDC had documented two other cases: the first in Southern Illinois back in June, where the patient required hospitalization, and the second in Lake County, confirmed on July 16, involving a person in their 70s who fell ill earlier that month.
