Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) is teetering on the brink.

Friend,

Our public transit system is more than buses and trains — it’s a lifeline for workers, students, seniors, and families across the region.

But right now, Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) is teetering on the brink. As of June, PRT’s board approved a budget assuming 35% service cuts and a 9% fare hike in February 2026 — unless the state steps up with funding.

That means 41 bus routes eliminated, late-night service wiped out, cuts to staff, and everyday essentials like school, work, doctors’ appointments — and grocery runs — put out of reach for so many people.

I’ve been working to determine how to maintain levels of service for as long as possible without making heavy cuts. But here's the truth: changing Harrisburg’s priorities takes grassroots power.

We need a loud message that public transit is a public good, and that working families depend on it. Can I count on your support today?
