Shortly after coming into office, Trump issued a series of executive orders that directed agencies to cut staffing dramatically and eliminate regulations protecting our food, water, and climate.

Another order directed the EPA to reconsider its 2009 finding that greenhouse gases threaten public health and welfare – the finding that has enabled EPA to regulate the emissions driving climate change.

We quickly filed requests for information about how agencies plan to gut our environmental and health protections under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Rather than respond to our requests – as it is required by law to do – the Trump Administration has ignored them.

We won’t let the Trump administration dismantle our environmental protections behind closed doors. This week, we sued the Trump administration over orders to gut federal agencies and slash environmental protections.
