John, while we
will likely have to wait several more days before we find out the result
in Kentucky, the results in New York are a bit more clear. While we have
to wait for all the absentee ballots to be counted, the margins make me
comfortable saying:

WE WON!!!

DFA-endorsed progressive candidates won at least two earth-shattering
victories last night in New York’s Democratic primary.

First, Mondaire Jones overcame a split field and massive spending
disadvantage to win the primary in New York’s 17th Congressional District.
He is an attorney, nonprofit leader, and activist -- and will likely be
among the first openly LGBTQ+ Black members of Congress.

And Jamaal Bowman defeated 16-term incumbent and corporate Democrat, Rep.
Eliot Engel in New York’s 16th Congressional District. Bowman was raised
in NYC public housing by his grandmother and mother. As the leader of one
of the best public middle schools in New York City, he’s fought for the
families of the Bronx every day. Now, he’ll continue that fight in the
U.S. Congress.

Thanks to an overwhelming amount of grassroots support from DFA members
and progressives across the country, Jamaal and Mondaire were able to
overcome entrenched corporate interests and deliver huge victories for the
people of New York.

And it appears that we swept all of our federal races in New York
yesterday, with Dana Balter (NY-24) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14)
overwhelmingly defeating their corporate, establishment challengers.

Help capture the momentum from these resounding victories and pitch in to
support DFA’s work electing progressives like Jamaal and Mondaire across
the country. We have several more primaries in the coming months, and our
