Join us in Raleigh this Tuesday, July 29th at 9AM at the Legislative Building (16 W Jones St) for the HB 805 veto override vote.

This is a crucial moment to stand up for women, children, and parental rights. Governor Stein vetoed this commonsense bill—but with your presence and prayers, we can urge legislators to override the veto.

👉 Let our Grassroots & Political Director, Isaac Burke, know if you can by emailing him: [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]?subject=Interest%20in%20Attending&body=undefined)

** 2. CAROLINA JOURNAL: NC Lawmakers Poised to Implement Big Beautiful Bill Act’s Expansion of School Choice
------------------------------------------------------------

"North Carolina lawmakers will consider implementing a federally authorized school choice tax credit program, part of the recent 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act' passed by Congress, when they reconvene on July 29. The same day, lawmakers are scheduled to override two vetoes by Governor Josh Stein on education-related legislation on July 29.

Under this new federal program, taxpayers can donate up to $1,700 to nonprofit Scholarship-Granting Organizations (SGOs), which in turn issue stipends to students for private school expenses, including tuition and other allowable costs. A key feature is that donors receive a dollar-for-dollar reduction in their income taxes, effectively making the donation cost-free."

"Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C., has announced that it will no longer provide gender transition-related medical interventions.

The web page for the hospital's 'Gender Development Program' displays a message for existing and new patients announcing the change, which will go into effect Aug. 30.

'In light of escalating legal and regulatory risks to Children’s National, our providers, and the families we serve, we will be discontinuing the prescription of gender-affirming medications,' the message says. 'Mental health and other support services for LGBT patients remain available. You are always welcome at Children’s National for your other medical needs.'"

** 5. FOX SPORTS: US Olympic and Paralympic Officials Bar Transgender Women from Competing in Olympic Women's Sports
------------------------------------------------------------

"The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee has effectively barred transgender women from competing in women’s sports, telling the federations overseeing swimming, athletics and other sports it has an 'obligation to comply' with an executive order issued by President Donald Trump.

The new policy, announced Monday with a quiet change on the USOPC’s website and confirmed in a letter sent to national sport governing bodies, follows a similar step taken by the NCAA earlier this year."

** Weekly Prayer: Officials
------------------------------------------------------------

LORD, you also have instructed us to pray for our governing officials, and we come to you in the spirit of this petition. We pray for our state government and its executive, legislative, and judicial servants. May they indeed be servants unto the people, and govern in a manner that protects liberty and virtue. In the same spirit, we pray for public servants across our local governments. May they all heed your mandate in Romans 13:4 to be in positions of authority as “God’s servant” and for the “good” of the public. They govern in what we confess are difficult times. May they plead with you to give them wisdom, and may your grace to govern wisely be poured out on them.

Protect us from the oppression and loss of freedoms that other countries have experienced, and help us to value and preserve freedom, which we know comes only from You.

“I have indeed seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their groaning and have come down to set them free.” Acts 7:34

Amen

Sincerely,

Tami & Team
