There are two landmark anniversaries coming up: Tomorrow is 35 years since the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) became law, and next week is the 60th anniversary of Medicaid and Medicare.

This extraordinary legislation — and the generations of organizers and activists who fought for them — show us how to defeat fascism’s attempts to divide us based on race, gender, age, immigration status, ability, and other identities.
