The Councilmember has publicly stated that they would not support a repeal of Initiative 82. Any proposal that maintains a subminimum wage for tipped workers is effectively a repeal.

I learned you are working on a proposal that includes various wage freezes and prevents tipped workers from ever reaching the full minimum wage rate. Each of these are in direct opposition to the core principles of Initiative 82.

DC voters overwhelmingly supported Initiative 82 three years ago because we want all workers in DC to have the same minimum wage.

DC workers and voters deserve better. We need you to do the right thing.
