** Pioneering cancer surgery on pregnant woman saves her and baby
------------------------------------------------------------

In a first-of-its-kind procedure, doctors at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust successfully removed the uterus of a pregnant woman diagnosed with ovarian cancer - and later re-implanted it - allowing both the mother and her unborn baby to survive.

The patient, Lucy Isaac, was 12 weeks pregnant when doctors at the John Radcliffe Hospital devised the pioneering procedure. The surgical team removed her uterus with the baby still inside, treated the cancer, and then carefully reinserted it, enabling Isaac to continue her pregnancy to term.

Newstalk’s Ciara Kelly

** Newstalk can’t keep it fair in the interview chair
------------------------------------------------------------

On Tuesday, Irish Times columnist Breda O’Brien was interviewed by Newstalk’s Ciara Kelly about her recent column: As abortions triple, when will we admit that reluctant repealers were profoundly wrong?

In sharp contrast to the interview Newstalk’s Kieran Cuddihy’s conducted last week with abortion-supporting medic Dr Madeleine Ní Dhálaigh - where there wasn’t a single tough question in the mix - every question posed by Kelly was framed in a way that put the interviewee on the defence, aside from the opening question where, in fairness, O’Brien was given a brief window to articulate her position.

Just because we’ve grown used to mainstream media bias on abortion doesn’t mean we should ignore it. It deserves attention every time it happens. That’s the only way change will come about. Breda O’Brien, it should be said, remained entirely unfazed by the unfair line of questioning

and delivered a stellar performance.

Elizabeth, Ben, and Baby Evelyn on Capitol Hill attending the Babies Go to Congress event

** “The most magical feeling” – Couple thrilled over successful Abortion Pill Reversal
------------------------------------------------------------

Elizabeth found herself in panic mode a year ago as her boyfriend Ben called her begging her to leave Planned Parenthood.

She feared it was too late. She had consumed the first abortion pill. In her heart, however, she knew she needed to stop this process. She began to try to make herself vomit. It didn’t work.

Elizabeth shared her story alongside Ben during a recent ‘Babies Go to Congress’ event.

Both Elizabeth and Ben agreed to correspond with US group Pregnancy Help News via an email to share their story in depth.

The resistance to Abortion Pill Reversal from pro-abortion groups in Ireland - and elsewhere - is rooted not in science but in ideology, masked as medical concern. Stories like Elizabeth and Ben’s, along with many others we’ve shared in recent times, deserve to be heard far

and wide. We have a duty to stand against ideological suppression and champion everything that protects and values life.

Deputy Michael Collins

Deputy Michael Collins raises latest abortion figures in the Dáil

Just prior to the Dáil summer recess, Deputy Michael Collins of Independent Ireland raised Ireland’s soaring abortion numbers in the Oireachtas, referring in particular to the 10,852 abortions that took place in 2024.

Addressing the Minister for Health, Deputy Jennifer Carroll MacNeill directly, Deputy Collins said: “The promise made during the 2018 referendum that abortion would be safe, legal and rare has well and truly been broken. The figure of 10,852 is the highest number of abortions we have ever seen. In my county of Cork, 957 babies lost their lives by abortion last year. The Government must think seriously about offering women with unplanned pregnancies greater supports and clearly-signposted alternatives to abortion. No woman should ever feel she has no option but to have an abortion.”

Some of the attendees at Saturday’s ‘Summer Session’ in Waterford

PLC’s ‘Summer Session’ in Waterford warmly received

The ‘Summer Session’ hosted by the Pro Life Campaign in Waterford last weekend was a well attended, warmly received and focused event.

Participants discussed the current challenges facing the pro-life movement - including the huge rise in abortions - and offered lots of constructive suggestions on how to positively move things forward.

Among the attendees were members of Waterford City & County Council, Cllr Joe Kelly (Tramore & Waterford City West) and Councillor Pat Fitzgerald (Waterford City East), as well as representatives from Aontú, Independent Ireland and other local groups. Bishop Phonsie Cullinan from the Diocese of Waterford & Lismore was also present on the day. Many thanks to everyone who participated and helped make the event such a success!
