Dear John,
Will you stand with Pastor Luke?
Did you ever think you could be standing in the unemployment line because you used the "wrong" pronouns? Fired for no other reason than refusing to submit to the Left's make-believe world? It just happened to a bi-vocational pastor in Louisiana!
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, many Christians have been exposed to the truth about the state of public education in America and have, rightfully, become concerned about the leftist ideological shifts within public institutions -- including public libraries. What was once a space meant for community enrichment through reading is now, in some cases, becoming a battleground for forced speech policies and the marginalization of biblical convictions. Pastor Luke Ash, a faithful husband, father of four, and bi-vocational minister in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, recently experienced this firsthand. Pastor Ash took up a role as a library technician to provide for his family as he led his small flock of believers, never imagining it would cost him his job for standing by the truth he taught.
Pastor Ash's "offense" was simple: in a routine workplace conversation, he respectfully declined to use biologically inaccurate pronouns for a coworker. As Pastor Ash told me on "Washington Watch" recently, when he was pressed by his supervisor, he explained, "I'm not going to lie. I will not do it." Rather than accommodate his faith or allow room for respectful disagreement, library leadership promptly terminated him under their diversity, equity, and inclusion policy. Ironically, this pursuit of "inclusion" had no space for biblical conviction or freedom of conscience.
As Christians, we are called to love everyone -- yet we are also commanded to stand for truth. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life..." and compromising truth is ultimately a step away from living out His calling. Pastor Ash's story is not just about pronouns; it's about whether accommodations will be made for people of faith to live and speak the truth in a culture increasingly hostile to biblical values. If government-funded institutions can force someone to deny biological reality -- or lose their livelihood -- our First Amendment freedoms, especially for believers, will become non-existent.
Here at Family Research Council Action (FRC Action), we stand with Pastor Luke. Will you join us in standing with Pastor Luke by signing the petition below? And when you do, please forward this email to 2-3 friends who care about truth and freedom so they can also stand with Pastor Luke. Together, we can demonstrate that people of faith will not be silenced nor pushed to the margins of our society. Your voice -- joined with many others -- can help restore integrity, liberty, and respect for religious conscience in the public square.
Pastor Luke Ash -- a husband, father, and bi-vocational minister -- was fired from his job as a library technician at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library. His offense? He refused to lie.
When asked to refer to a female coworker using male pronouns, Luke respectfully declined, citing his Christian convictions.
"I'm not going to lie. I will not do it," Pastor Luke told his supervisor.
The very next day, he was fired -- under a so-called "DEI policy" that claims to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Apparently, that doesn't apply to those with biblical beliefs.
This is a moment of truth. Will you stand with Pastor Luke and push back against the Left's deceptive and destructive ideology that punishes faith and undermines freedom?
If government-funded institutions can force people to deny biological reality or lose their livelihood, our First Amendment rights are in serious jeopardy.
