John, when I was growing up, my mom worked as a public school teacher right here in Dallas.
She raised me on her own, and we didn't have much – and when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, it was programs like Medicare and Medicaid that allowed her to get treatment.
That's why John Cornyn's vote to gut Medicaid to pay for tax cuts for his billionaire mega donors is personal to me.
It's cruel. It's backwards. And it's going to result in nearly a million Texans losing their health coverage.
I want to make sure John Cornyn and Senate Republicans like him know loud and clear how hard we are going to fight back and defeat weak and corrupt politicians like him. That's why I'm urgently rallying 15,000 voices before midnight tonight to stand up to these cruel cuts to our health care. Will you add your name to help protect Medicaid and the millions who rely on it?
I've always believed that government should work for working families – not for the few who already have everything. And as your next Senator, I'll never stop fighting for that.
Medicaid is a lifeline for kids, parents, and folks living with disabilities. It's what keeps rural hospitals open. And it's how many Texans afford care they otherwise couldn't – especially in a state like ours that refuses to expand coverage.
Senate Republicans may be ready to gut Medicaid to please their billionaire donors, but I'm not backing down. If you're with me, please add your name to my petition to safeguard Medicaid before my midnight deadline.
Thanks for standing with me.
