The First Called Special Session of the Texas Legislature began Monday. The Texas Values team has been at the Texas Capitol every single day of the legislative session attending floor sessions, attending hearings, and meeting the Texas legislators. The Texas Legislature now has 2 bills on the Women’s Privacy Act, HB 32 by Representative Valoree Swanson and SB 7 by Senator Mayes Middleton that was filed on Wednesday. On Tuesday, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick listed protecting women in their private spaces as one of his top priorities for the Senate in the Special Session.
But we need to have a hearing on these bills soon! We also need to make sure that the bills go to the right committees!
Please contact Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows and let him know that you want to see the Texas Women’s Privacy Act pass. Kindly tell him any personal story you have that explains why clear, concise laws protecting sex-separated spaces is important to you. Also, politely imply that we need the best strategy (including the movement of the bill in the House committee process) to help Texas successfully protect women and girls in their private spaces! Call the Office of Speaker Dustin Burrows: (512) 463-1000 Email the Office of Speaker Dustin Burrows: Click here.

Please also email your Texas Senator and Texas House member and tell them to support the Texas Women’s Privacy Act. Let them know that you want The Texas Women’s Privacy Act to pass in this session and that you expect them to work hard to see that the bill passes.

Texas Values helped lead the passage of Texas SB 10 this legislative session and the Ten Commandments are now permitted by law to be displayed in public school classrooms across Texas. But it’s up to the people of Texas to help implement this new law—and you can play a vital role. For the Ten Commandments to be displayed, the poster or framed copy must be donated to the school(s).
With this tool, RestoreAmericanSchools.com you can select the school(s) in your area, purchase posters for just $1 each (including shipping), and follow a simple step-by-step guide to donate them to your local school and district.
If Texans across the state participate, we can ensure that the Ten Commandments are restored to every classroom in our great state. We encourage you to involve your neighbors, church small group, or family in this important effort. While adopting a school, please take a moment to mark "Texas Values" in the referral drop down menu so we can keep track of volunteer statistics! |
