Take Action to Protect the Western Arctic
from Trump’s Attacks

The Trump administration is moving to revoke protections for the Western Arctic, one of the most ecologically important landscapes in the world.

We need your help: There's a short window when the Interior Department must collect feedback. It's crucial that environmentalists make their voices heard before the deadline.

Please take action right now — it only takes a moment to help us reach our 5,000 signature goal >>

Friend — The Trump administration is proposing to roll back publicly supported protections in the Western Arctic, one of the most ecologically important landscapes on Earth, and allow Big Oil companies to start destructive drilling operations.

The Western Arctic is home to polar bears, wolves, moose, America’s  largest caribou herds, and nesting birds from around the world. The landscape is also crucial to the culture and traditions of Alaska Natives, and helps fight the effects of climate change by reducing greenhouse gases from the air.

Now through August 4, the Interior Department must collect feedback on their proposed protection rollback. We need your help, Friend: We’ve set a goal to submit 5,000 comments from LCV members like you. Please act now — it only takes a moment to add your name.

Trump’s proposal puts the interests of Big Oil above those of local communities and the American people, opening up 13 million acres of land to oil and gas development by striking down Special Areas protections for many of the Western Arctic’s unique landscapes.

With rapid changes from climate change and continued threats from oil and gas development, it is critical that we make sure the Trump administration hears from the public that they must maintain strong protections for vulnerable areas in the Western Arctic.

The oil industry wants to roll back protections in the Western Arctic — even when the price is sacrificing sensitive ecosystems and impacting cultural resources for Indigenous communities. Our movement needs to respond.

Thanks for taking action, Friend.
