Quick update for you on our ongoing lawsuit against the Trump administration for illegally defunding AmeriCorps:
Last month, I filed a lawsuit challenging Trump’s attempt to gut AmeriCorps, our national volunteer public service agency — and we secured a court order to stop the illegal withholding of tens of millions of dollars in funding.
Now, Trump is trying a new — but similarly illegal! — tactic to withhold funding, so we’re going back to court. Today I filed an amended lawsuit that adds the White House Office of Management and Budget as a defendant and brings new legal claims in our case.
As we continue litigation, I’m asking you to sign my petition in support of AmeriCorps — a program that represents the very best of who we are and can be as Americans, engaging hundreds of thousands of people in serving their communities every year.
