Unfortunately, due to delays in franchise utility scheduling the opening of Woolley Road has been delayed. The closure is expected to remain in place through the end of day August 15. We appreciate your patience and understanding as this important infrastructure improvement project gets underway. Please continue to plan and follow all posted detours and signage.
The Village has completed four quarters of state-required PFAS testing. While the first two rounds showed no detections, trace amounts were detected during the most recent tests in four wells. Fortunately, all levels were at the lowest detectable range and remain well below U.S. Environmental Protection Agency maximum contaminant levels.
To ensure the reliability of these findings, independent third-party testing is currently underway.
At the June 10 Village Board meeting, Trustees unanimously voted to join a national lawsuit regarding PFAS contamination, following a major $14 billion settlement with 3M and DuPont related to PFAS use in firefighting foam. Under this action, law firms will analyze water testing results and pursue potential compensation if contamination is confirmed.
The Village remains fully committed to transparency and delivering safe, high-quality drinking water.
