‼️ Perdue is trying to silence us

Hi John,
Michelle here. I’m the photographer at a lot of DxE’s protests, including many of the demonstrations we’ve been doing outside the homes of Perdue executives who oversee the animal cruelty at Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry. During these protests, we bring our message directly into the community and we call on the people at the top of this company who have the power to stop the abuse. They’re simple and nonviolent protests.
That’s why I think it’s absurd that Perdue is calling them a “campaign of terror.” I guess that is what they have to say in order to spin it so they are the victim, instead of the true victims—the animals they brutalize.
*This week, a second Perdue executive filed a lawsuit against DxE* seeking to stop public protests outside his home. Scott Fitzpatrick is the Live Production Manager for Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry, meaning he oversees the Petaluma Poultry hatchery and all of its factory farms where the birds are raised for 6 weeks before being slaughtered. *He is in charge of the lives of over 10 million animals each year. That is a lot of power.*
We’ve tried to get a meeting with Scott about the widespread illness, injury, and starvation that DxE has documented at the factory farms he oversees, but he and every other executive we’ve emailed has chosen to ignore us completely. So we hold demonstrations because we don’t have any other way to reach these powerful people. We’ve held two protests on public property outside Scott’s house, and in response, he filed a SLAPP suit (a Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) to try to take away our First Amendment right to protest.
*Help us expose Petaluma Poultry’s latest attempt to silence the truth! Share the news about this new lawsuit on* *Instagram* ( [link removed] ) *,* *Facebook* ( [link removed] ) *,* *Twitter* ( [link removed] ) *and* *Bluesky* ( [link removed] ) *.*
Scott is trying to paint himself as a victim, instead of acknowledging his huge role in the ongoing neglect and abuse of chickens at Petaluma Poultry. If he cared, Scott could make a difference for these animals. He could document and report the violations at these facilities he oversees to his company and hold them accountable. He could prevent so many animals from being left with untreated injuries and diseases. He could go to the courts, not to sue us , but to seek justice for these mistreated animals.
I have hope that one day Scott and Jason and the other executives propping up this cruelty will see the error of their ways and work with us to stop the violence.
Thanks for your support,
Michelle
