Hi John,
We are in the fight of our lives to defend the separation of church and state. As part of this fight, the Center for Freethought Equality, the advocacy and political arm of the American Humanist Association, has spent the last year expanding our policy focus to the state level.
Along with playing important defense against attacks on k-12 public secular education, we’re beefing up our proactive work. For example, this year we’ve introduced five bills in four states to bring greater transparency to the operations of religious organizations presenting themselves as health insurance providers.
With a network of humanist and atheist elected officials and members of our community around the country ready to work with us to create a more secular world, we need to focus on where we can have the most impact, and on issues that we can trust our community to show up for. Staff shouldn’t decide those issues on our own. We need your help to figure out where our efforts can make a real difference.
Our next steps depend on you. Will you take five minutes to guide our advocacy focus and show us where you will lend your voice, time, or resources to this crucial fight?[[link removed]]
We do this work for you and because of you. Your voice matters. Please take this short survey and help us chart our path forward to a more secular and inclusive world.

Thank you,
