GLAAD Remains Committed to Visibility in Response to Supreme Court Rulings
Recent Supreme Court rulings underscore what’s at stake for the LGBTQ community—and why GLAAD’s work is more vital than ever. In Kennedy v. Braidwood Management Inc. ([link removed]), the Court upheld a key part of the Affordable Care Act, ensuring Americans can continue accessing preventive health services like PrEP at no out-of-pocket cost. GLAAD played a key role in shaping the narrative by partnering with legal experts, HIV advocates, and direct service providers to highlight the human rights implications of the case. Through our ongoing work with Gilead Sciences and HIV providers nationwide, we continue fighting HIV stigma and promoting equitable access to care.

At the same time, we’re pushing back against censorship in the wake of the disappointing Mahmoud v. Taylor ruling, which allowed some parents to opt their children out of LGBTQ-inclusive books in schools. GLAAD quickly partnered with the authors and illustrators named in the case to release a powerful joint statement ([link removed]) defending LGBTQ visibility in children’s literature. We’re continuing this work alongside PEN America, Little Bee Books, and other freedom-to-read advocates to ensure every child can see themselves reflected in their education.

Stand With Us for LGBTQ Equality in 2025
The danger is mounting with hundreds of anti-LGBTQ legislative bills, a tactic that fuels increased — and sometimes fatal — violence towards LGBTQ people, including bullying, targeting of Pride events, bomb and mass shooting threats, and more. But GLAAD’s 40 years of experience and media advocacy expertise means we’re prepared to face it all. Make a donation to GLAAD to amplify our ability to help us fight misinformation and hate, respond to rapid news, and change our culture toward progress. With your support, GLAAD can look forward to another 40 years of accelerating LGBTQ acceptance.
