When Peggy asked me to reach out to you today, I said, “Of course!”

I’ve known Peggy for a long time. We both grew up in St. Louis Park (not at the same time — she’s young, and I’m old). Raised by a single mom (her, not me), Peggy understands the vital role federal programs play in supporting working families. From Section 8 housing vouchers to health insurance and child care assistance, she knows firsthand how these resources can transform lives.

Peggy’s credentials are impressive: currently serving as Minnesota’s Lieutenant Governor, she's the highest-ranking Native American woman ever elected to executive office in our country. Oh, and in case you’re wondering — yes, Peggy will be the first Native American woman ever elected to the U.S. Senate.

She also refuses to take a cent of corporate PAC money, because she won’t be a puppet for corporate interests.

While some in Washington avoid their constituents, Peggy is front and center, engaging with Minnesotans, hearing their concerns, and bringing people together. She doesn’t just want to fight Trump and his allies; she’s ready to lead and deliver concrete accomplishments for folks like she’s done in Minnesota over and over again.
