John, this is incredible. While we're still waiting on absentee ballots, multiple independent outlets have confirmed that WE WON!

First off, I want to thank you for everything you did that helped lead to our victory in New York's 16th District.

Together, we defeated Eliot Engel — one of the most entrenched members of Congress who had the backing of the entire Democratic establishment.

They threw everything they had at us — the political establishment, foreign policy hawks, Trump donors, even a Republican super PAC — and spent over $5.2 million against us. But it wasn't enough to divide us.

We brought people together across race, across class, across religion, across gender, to fight for justice, equality, and a country that works for all of us — and we did it all without accepting a dime from corporate PACs or lobbyists.

The results from yesterday's election show that NY-16 isn't just ready for this change; we're demanding it. Our world has changed, and Congress needs to change too.

I'm proud to be a part of this change. Our victory shows that, if we can beat entrenched power and wealthy interests here in Westchester and the Bronx, then we can do it all across this country and change the course of our nation.
