John,
Half promises aren’t enough!
Last week, together, we demanded that Trump’s Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin immediately disclose whether the Trump Organization, or any of the properties that it owns or manages, are receiving federal assistance in the form of loans, grants or rent reductions.
Now, in a partial victory for citizen activism, Mnuchin has agreed to release some information regarding the $660 billion federal small business Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and recipients. He will disclose loans of more than $150,000 but provide five broad ranges, not specific amounts.[1]
This level of transparency is not good enough. The public deserves to know the names of ALL recipients of PPP loans, the EXACT dollar amount of all loans received, and the names of all applicants that did not receive PPP loans. We demand full transparency and accountability now!
Are Trump’s businesses receiving federal aid or not, at a time when many U.S. small businesses are struggling to survive?
