Aurora Regino’s daughter, A.S., confided in a school guidance counselor that she was feeling gender confusion. In minutes, the counselor decided A.S. was “really a boy.” The school changed her name, pronouns, and identity—all behind Aurora’s back.

And this wasn’t a mistake. It was policy.

The California Department of Education’s “Parental Secrecy Policy” tells schools NOT to inform parents if their child is being socially transitioned—unless the child specifically says so.

This flips the Constitution on its head! Parents have a fundamental right under the 14th Amendment to direct the upbringing of their kids. 

Worse yet, Aurora’s daughter wanted to talk to her mom about the “transition.” But the guidance counselor pressured her to keep it secret.

This is not just unlawful. It’s dangerous and downright evil.

That’s why we’ve filed a lawsuit demanding an injunction to stop this outrageous policy in the Chico Unified School District and across California.
