Our broken campaign finance system and the insidious influence of the NRA has already gotten people killed, and will continue to because of this:

Because the NRA is able to bully an entire political party into doing their bidding, and protecting the profits of their donors, people are going to continue to die. We wish we could sugar coat this, or tell you something different. But we can’t.

Without these universal background checks, some maniac will be able to purchase a firearm. That same person will be enabled to shoot someone, or maybe more than just someone. People will die, we will grieve, the NRA will flex it’s dark money muscle, and all we’ll have will be those thoughts and prayers.

This is the political reality that we live in, but you can still take action. Donate $3 to Justice Democrats today, and help us elect a slate of progressive candidates who refuse corporate PAC donations, will stand up to the NRA, and will fight to end Citizens United once and for all:

Without structural change to our government, the NRA will keep getting away with their brazen political sabotage of our country. But there is some good news — we’ve already started our first campaign against their political malfeasance.

Believe it or not, there are still Democrats who pander to the NRA, and Henry Cuellar is the worst offender. He took thousands from the NRA and boasts about an A rating from them. We launched our first challenger, Jessica Cisneros in Texas’ 28th district, to send the message that no Democrat should ever side with the NRA.

This is how we need to chip away at the insidious influence of organizations like the NRA. Every politician who puts guns or corporate profits over people must be replaced, and once we elect enough powerful progressive leaders, we can fix the system at-large to stop an organization like the NRA from ever getting away with this again.
