Trump Sets Course on American Leadership in AI

Rapid Response: President Trump signs three executive orders on AI: • Accelerating permitting to build data center infrastructure • Promoting the export of American AI models abroad • Protecting Americans from woke AI models driven by Radical Left ideology at the expense of accuracy (Rapid Response). The administration’s action plan: America must have the most powerful AI systems in the world, but we must also lead the world in creative and transformative application of those systems. Ultimately, it is the uses of technology that create economic growth, new jobs, and scientific advancements. America must invent and embrace productivity enhancing AI uses that the world wants to emulate.  Achieving this requires the Federal government to create the conditions where private sector-led innovation can flourish (AI.Gov). Christopher Rufo: Incredible: Trump has issued an executive order saying that the government will not purchase AI systems that default to black George Washington, refuse to celebrate the achievements of white people, or argue that misgendering someone is worse than a nuclear apocalypse (Rufo). Executive Order: This order establishes a coordinated national effort to support the American AI industry by promoting the export of full-stack American AI technology packages (White House).

Department of Justice Launches Strike Fort to Evaluate Recently Released Evidence From Department of National Intelligence
From the Department of Justice: Today, the Department of Justice announced the formation of a Strike Force to assess the evidence publicized by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and investigate potential next legal steps which might stem from DNI Gabbard’s disclosures. This Department takes alleged weaponization of the intelligence community with the utmost seriousness. Upon the formation of the Strike Force, Attorney General Pamela Bondi stated: “The Department of Justice is proud to work with my friend Director Gabbard and we are grateful for her partnership in delivering accountability for the American people. We will investigate these troubling disclosures fully and leave no stone unturned to deliver justice” (Justice). Just the News: The development comes after Gabbard announced she shared the newly released documents with the Justice Department and FBI for possible criminal implications. The Justice Department has used strike forces in the past to help coordinate multi-agency investigations into health care fraud, wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud and money laundering offenses (Just the News).

Four Pieces of Evidence on Which the Russia Collision Narrative Was Based Were All “Bogus”
That’s from Matt Taibbi who’s been doing extensive reporting on the latest. Taibbi: Official claim that Putin “aspired” to help Trump was based on four pieces of evidence, all bogus, even “ridiculous,” according to long-suppressed report just released by DNI Tulsi Gabbard…. One was the Steele Dossier. The surprise is that the other three were even less credible, each included over objections of the report’s CIA authors. The first item was a “scant, unclear, and unverifiable fragment” of one sentence that the report’s five CIA authors read “five ways” and initially left out, only to have Director John Brennan order it back in. The second item was an email with “no date, no identified sender, no clear recipient, and no classification.” The third was supposedly backed by “liaison,” diplomatic, and press reporting, as well as signals intelligence (SIGINT), except the “SIGINT” didn’t mention Trump, the “liaison reporting” didn’t mention Trump and was from 2014, and the “diplomatic and media” reporting was a post-election review by a U.S. Ambassador citing a Russian pundit who said Putin and Trump should “work together like businessmen.” This was “evidence” that Putin “developed a clear preference” for Trump. All three reports weren’t just unsourced and unreliable, but discarded fictions pulled out of the CIA’s trash heap. “They manipulated the manipulations,” is how ODNI Deputy Chief of Staff Alexa Henning put it (Racket).

Trump Announces Trade Deal With Japan
CNBC: President Donald Trump on Tuesday stateside announced a “massive” deal with Japan that includes “reciprocal” tariffs of 15% on the country’s exports to the U.S., with auto duties reportedly being lowered to that level as well. In a post on Truth Social, Trump called the agreement “perhaps the largest Deal ever made,” while adding that Japan would invest $550 billion in the United States and the U.S. would “receive 90% of the Profits.” Trump said that Japan will “open their Country to Trade including Cars and Trucks, Rice and certain other Agricultural Products, and other things” (CNBC). Auto stocks surged: The announcement Tuesday evening sent Japan’s benchmark Nikkei stock index climbing almost 4% to its highest in a year, led by stocks in automakers with Toyota (7203.T), opens new tab up more than 14% and Honda (7267.T), opens new tab nearly 11%. Wall Street opened higher on Wednesday, shoring up expectations of further agreements ahead of the fast-approaching August 1 deadline. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI), opens new tab rose 158.7 points, or 0.36%, at the open to 44661.12 (Reuters). From the White House: With over $550 billion in a new Japanese/USA investment vehicle and enhanced access for American exports, this agreement marks a new chapter in bilateral cooperation—one that will unleash the full potential of the U.S. economy, strengthen vital supply chains, and support American workers, communities, and businesses for decades to come. RESTORING AMERICAN INDUSTRIAL POWER: Japan will invest $550 billion directed by the United States to rebuild and expand core American industries. This is the single largest foreign investment commitment ever secured by any country and will generate hundreds of thousands of U.S. jobs, expand domestic manufacturing, and secure American prosperity for generations (White House).

HHS Launches Major Reform Initiative After Investigation Found Organs Taken From Patients Still Alive
LifeSite: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. announced a major push to begin reforming the U.S. organ procurement and transplantation system. This announcement was prompted by a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) investigation that uncovered multiple examples of patients who were not dead when they were taken for organ procurement. The HRSA investigation revealed that out of 351 cases studied, 103 (29.3 percent) were found to have problems. They discovered 73 patients (21 percent) who were authorized for organ procurement despite having neurological signs incompatible with organ donation. And disturbingly, at least 28 patients (8 percent) may not have been deceased when doctors began surgery to remove their organs (LifeSite). From HHS: These findings from HHS confirm what the Trump administration has long warned: entrenched bureaucracies, outdated systems, and reckless disregard for human life have failed to protect our most vulnerable citizens. Under Secretary Kennedy’s leadership, HHS is restoring integrity and transparency to organ procurement and transplant policy by putting patients’ lives first. These reforms are essential to restoring trust, ensuring informed consent, and protecting the rights and dignity of prospective donors and their families.HHS recognizes House Committee on Energy and Commerce Chairman Brett Guthrie’s (KY-02) bipartisan work to improve the organ transplant system and looks forward to working with him and other issue-area champions in Congress to deliver reforms (HHS).

Supreme Court Protects President’s Right to Fire Agency Heads
SCOTUS Blog: The Supreme Court on Wednesday cleared the way for the Trump administration to remove three of the five members of the Consumer Product Safety Commission from office while their challenges to their firings continue …. The decision to grant the Trump administration’s request to be able to fire the MSPB and NLRB board members, the majority explained, “reflected ‘our judgment that the Government faces greater risk of harm from an order allowing a removed officer to continue exercising the executive power than a wrongfully removed officer faces from being unable to perform her statutory duty.’” That reasoning applies equally to the CPSC commissioners, the majority wrote, when the CPSC “exercises executive power in a similar manner as the” NLRB, “and the case does not otherwise differ from Wilcox in any pertinent respect (SCOTUS Blog). Ed Morrissey: Newsweek calls this Donald Trump’s 16th SCOTUS win in a row. That may have more relation to the quality of challenges to executive authority than to its uses, however. Once again, this revolves around the question of whether an agency that exercises executive power has legal status independent of the chief executive, ie, the President. An entire series of challenges this year to Trump’s efforts to clean house in the executive branch have relied on a 1930s-era precedent, Humphrey’s Executor, which established separation between so-called independent agencies and presidents when it came to firing appointees. Two months ago, the court issued a preliminary ruling in Trump v Wilcox that all but declared the Humphrey’s Executor precedent a dead letter (Hot Air).

Amidst Claims of Starvation in Gaza, Abundant Aid Remains Undistributed
Times of Israel: Amid claims by the Hamas terror group of unprecedented starvation in the Gaza Strip in recent days, a senior Israeli security official said Tuesday that the military had not identified famine, while stressing that actions need to be taken to “stabilize the humanitarian situation.” The official, speaking with reporters on condition of anonymity, acknowledged that recently there has been a significant drop in the amount of aid reaching Palestinians in the Strip, but blamed United Nations bodies for not collecting and distributing the food and supplies (Times of Israel). IDF Spokesman:  WATCH: 950 trucks worth of aid, currently waiting in Gaza for international organizations to pick up and distribute to Gazan civilians. This is after Israel facilitated the aid entry into Gaza (IDF).

Watching the Genocide in Gaza
Yes, there’s something approaching war crimes happening in Gaza. But who the international community needs to be looking at more closely is Hamas—and their dark and sadistic use of civilian deaths to advance their interests. David Suissa:  it’s not enough to argue that Israel is not committing genocide against Palestinians, as many war experts have compelling argued. Israel must take the truth further: The real war crimes against Palestinians are coming not from Israel but from Hamas. Why is that so shocking? When we say Hamas uses Palestinians as human shields knowing they’re likely to be killed, what do we think that means? “What is unusual about Gaza is the cynical and criminal way Hamas has chosen to wage war,” Bret Stephens writes in The New York Times. “Hamas hides and feeds and preserves itself in its vast warren of tunnels rather than open them to civilians for protection.” Not protecting your civilians in war time is another way of saying you’re putting their lives deliberately in danger.…What matters is that we have a duty to hold Hamas accountable for the unconscionable act of putting its own civilians in the line of fire… . That is Hamas’s official policy. It’s time for the world to go after Hamas, just as the IDF has done since Oct. 7. Only now, Hamas won’t be able to hide behind its people.  (Jewish Journal).

NEA Plans to Scrub Jews From Holocaust Narrative
Free Beacon: The nation’s largest teachers’ union plans to promote a version of Holocaust remembrance that does not mention Jews, according to its 2025 handbook, which references “victims of the Holocaust from different faiths” and teaches that Israel was founded through “forced, violent displacement and dispossession,” its most recent guide for members shows. The National Education Association, which represents nearly three million public school teachers and education workers, outlined the priorities in its 2025 handbook…. The book does, however, give a lengthy description of its plans to “educate members and the general public about the history of the Palestinian Nakba,” while presenting a skewed version of Israel’s founding that demonizes the Jewish state. “The Nakba, meaning ‘catastrophe’ in Arabic, refers to the forced, violent displacement and dispossession of at least 750,000 Palestinians from their homeland in 1948 during the establishment of the state of Israel,” said the handbook. “Educating about the Nakba is essential for understanding the Palestinian diaspora narrative and experience, including the ongoing trauma of our Palestinian American students today. Teaching about the Nakba fosters critical thinking and empathy among students, promoting a deeper understanding of historical injustices and their contemporary ramifications” (Free Beacon).

Israeli Knesset Votes Overwhelmingly to Apply Sovereignty to Judea and Samaria
The areas also referred to as the West Bank. The votes is non-binding, but it is an indicator of a course and a direction that Israel—at least under this government—is heading. From the Knesset’s statement: In the vote, 71 Members of Knesset voted in favor of the declaration, versus 13 who opposed it. Speaker of the Knesset MK Amir Ohana (Likud): “The Knesset has made a historic declaration that supports the application of Israeli sovereignty over the homeland regions of Judea and Samaria. It is a great privilege to be the Speaker of the Knesset who says in a firm voice—this is our land and this is our home. Eretz Israel belongs to the people of Israel. In 1967 the occupation did not start, it ended. That is the historical truth, and the one and only way to reach genuine peace is from [a position of] power. We are here to stay, and the Knesset has said this by a large majority” …. Following is the wording of the proposed summary statement sponsored by the Likud, Shas, Religious Zionism, Otzma Yehudit, Yisrael Beitenu, New Hope—The United Right, Noam and MK Idan Roll: “Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley are an inseparable part of Eretz Israel—the historical, cultural and spiritual homeland of the Jewish people. Hundreds and thousands of years before the state’s establishment, the forefathers and the prophets of the nation lived and acted in these regions, and the foundations of Jewish culture and faith were laid in them. Cities such as Hebron, Shechem, Shilo and Beit El are not just historical sites, they are a living expression of the continuity of Jewish existence in the land (Knesset).
