John,
Conservatives and extremists in Washington D.C. voted to slash billions in federal funding – including $1.1 billion for trusted, local, independent public broadcasting.
Public broadcasting is more than just trusted local reporting – it’s educational programming for children, emergency alerts that save lives, and the kind of community-focused coverage that keeps people informed when it matters most.
Without this funding, 14 public media stations across our state will likely be forced to shut down – ending access to essential information for people who need it most.
Marilyn is leading the charge in Congress to protect public broadcasting – look at what she just said on CNN:

From CNN’s “Table For Five.” CNN, July 19, 2025.
“About what’s going to happen to rural communities – they don’t have the donor base, they normally don't have the tax base. And so how do they continue to provide vital information in emergencies?”
– Marilyn Strickland, CNN
This leadership comes at a cost. It puts a major target on Marilyn’s back – at a time when conservatives and extremists are doing everything to defeat her.
There’s already an effort underway to attack Marilyn and tear down her Democrat colleagues. We have to fight fire with fire and defend Marilyn’s bold leadership – will you help by chipping in today so she can keep fighting?
