Last night’s results proved how powerful our movement truly is. Mondaire Jones, Jamaal Bowman, Jackie Gordon, and Dr. Cameron Webb all won their primary elections last night, and while they are still counting ballots in Kentucky, Charles Booker has already exceeded expectations.
It’s clear that people are done waiting for change, and are demanding leaders who will fight for the best interests of the people they represent. Last night’s victories are proof of what we can do when we work together to advance bold, progressive action.
Now, let’s keep our momentum going and show up for Arati Kreibich and Candace Valenzuela in New Jersey and Texas, respectively. These two progressive women of color will bring much needed change to Washington — and their campaigns need our support before their primary elections in July.
Arati is an immigrant, a scientist, and a mother. She is challenging Josh Gottheimer in New Jersey's 5th District, and she is ready to advance bold solutions like Medicare for All and the Green New Deal. The primary election is in less than two weeks, and every contribution will help her campaign reach even more voters.
Candace’s run-off election in Texas’ 24th District is coming up on July 14th. Candace and her family have experienced challenges that impact so many Americans, and Candace has translated that experience into bold advocacy on behalf of the people in the Texas 24th District.
Our movement is strong. Our Squad is strong. Together, we are building collective progressive power that centers people — not corporations or special interests — and we are advancing policies like the People’s Justice Guarantee, Medicare for All, and a Green New Deal.
