GOP Rep. Mike Lawler in NY-17
---------------------------------------------------------------
This is breaking news, friend:

After considering running for governor, GOP Rep. Mike Lawler will seek reelection in NY-17.
This is one of the most vulnerable Republican-held seats in the country. It could easily be one of the just three seats we need to flip to win back Democratic control of the House.
As a reminder:
- Lawler is one of only three Republicans representing districts won by former Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024.
- Biden also won NY-17 in 2020.
This isn't a setback, friend. We see this as a real opportunity to defeat him and retake the House.
Lawler voted to take away Medicaid from 30,000 of his own constituents. This race is one of our best pickup opportunities. We also know Republicans will spend big to hold onto this seat.
But when we organize early and maintain focus, we win.
🗳️ In 2024, districts where Swing Left volunteers and donors took action early saw significantly smaller GOP gains than the national average.
📈 In the last cycle, 95% of our House targets were decided by single-digit margins. We won the majority of them.
📬 In NY-17, Swing Left volunteers sent thousands of letters and knocked on doors to help keep the district competitive.
