Hi folks– I’m thrilled to share some incredible news:
The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded the Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) a $25 million grant to modernize public transit right here in our community.
This funding, which my office fought hard to secure alongside BJCTA and local leaders, will support construction of a state-of-the-art maintenance and operations facility, enabling BJCTA to bring cleaner, more efficient, and more sustainable transit options to Birmingham and Jefferson County.
Will you chip in 10 or whatever you can today to help us keep fighting for transformative investments like this?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process immediately:
This project will:
✅ Create good-paying jobs during construction and beyond
✅ Expand access to opportunity by improving public transportation
✅ Invest in cleaner energy and resilient infrastructure for the future
For too long, our public transportation system has been overlooked. This grant is a game-changer, and I’d like to keep delivering results like this for our district –
but we need to reach our end-of-month goal of $9,783 to stay on track.
Every dollar helps us stay on track and keep pushing for what our community deserves. Will you show your support by chipping in today?
Thank you so much for all that you do!
Onward,
Terri Sewell
