Emil Bove — Donald Trump’s former personal defense attorney — just cleared a major hurdle toward a lifetime seat in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Let’s be honest about what this is: Bove is being rewarded not for his qualifications, but for his loyalty — and his proven willingness to put that loyalty ahead of the Constitution, the law, and the values our country is supposed to stand for.

This is exactly how authoritarian movements take hold.
