There’s something deeply troubling happening right now, and I’m not going to stay silent. Throughout my career, in Trenton and now in Washington, I have always led with transparency and accountability.
Watching the Trump Justice Department refuse to release all the files related to the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein is an outrage. It’s raising serious, bipartisan concerns across the country, and Americans are demanding transparency.
So am I.
This isn’t about partisan politics. It’s about restoring trust in a justice system that has too often failed the victims of abuse and exploitation.
The decision by the Trump Justice Department to brush aside legitimate questions and shut the door on this investigation is a slap in the face to survivors and to every American who believes in accountability. And House Republicans are so embarrassed by their efforts to protect the President that they shut down the House to hide the Epstein files.
