A few weeks ago, President Donald Trump instructed Texas Republicans to engage in a highly unusual, unscheduled mid-decade redistricting effort to pick up new GOP seats. As Republicans in the Texas Legislature proceed with the President's request, I wanted to provide you information about the process and next steps.
Because this process may impact you, I urge you to get informed and engaged.
The House Select Committee on Congressional Redistricting, comprised of 12 Republicans and 9 Democrats (including our very own Joe Moody) has three upcoming field hearing where members of the public are able to provide testimony virtually or in person. You can find the information below:
Thursday, July 24th at 2pm CT at the Texas Capitol
Saturday, July 26th at 11am CT in Houston, TX
Monday, July 28th at 5pm CT in Arlington, TX
Per the House committee, our community will be discussed at the July 24th hearing.
El Pasoans can request an invitation to provide testimony virtually by registering for an invitation here. The deadline to request to provide virtual testimony at this particular House hearing is at 1pm MT today. If you wish to electronically submit comments related to congressional redistricting without testifying in person or virtually, you can do so until the hearing is adjourned for the first meeting here.

The Senate Special Committee on Congressional Redistricting, comprised of 6 Republicans and 3 Democrats has three upcoming field hearing where members of the public are able to provide virtual testimony only. You can find the information below:
Friday, July 25 at 10am CT
Saturday, July 26th at 10am CT
Monday, July 28th at 3pm CT
Tuesday, July 29th at 9am CT
