Former Youth Soccer Coach Convicted of Multiple Counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct

LANSING – Yesterday, Andrew Olnhausen, 38, of Texas, was convicted by a Lenawee County jury of multiple felony counts relating to criminal sexual conduct, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. Olnhausen was found guilty of:  

• Four counts of First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, potential life sentence offenses with lifetime electronic monitoring; 
• Three counts of Second-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, each a 15-year felony; 
• One count of Children – Accosting for Immoral Purpose, a 4-year felony; 
• Five counts of Child Sexually Abusive Material – Possession, each a 4-year felony; 
• One count of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime, a 7-year felony; 
• One count of Distributing Sexual Material to a Minor, a 2-year felony; and 
• One count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, a 90-day misdemeanor. 

Olnhausen was a youth soccer coach with Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He had an abusive sexual relationship with a soccer player that started in 2016 when the victim was 12 years old and continued until the victim was approximately 16 years old. 

The charges against Olnhausen are the result of an investigation by the Adrian Police Department. Olnhausen was extradited back to Michigan from Texas to face these charges in 2022. 

“I am grateful to the jury for their careful consideration of the evidence, the Adrian Police Department for their investigative efforts, and the prosecutors in my office for their commitment to this case,” Nessel said. “Above all, I commend the courage of the victim, whose decision to come forward after years of abuse made this outcome possible. My office will continue pursuing justice for sexual assault survivors, no matter how long it takes.” 

Olnhausen is scheduled to be sentenced on September 5 in the 39th Circuit Court in Lenawee County before Judge Olsaver.
