One of the first things we were afraid of when Trump and Elon Musk gutted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was the impact it would have on active duty and Veterans.

CFPB fought banks and corporations that tried to take advantage of us, and they won! They clawed back hundreds of billions of dollars for people who were defrauded or abused and gave that money back. They were the watchdog, and bad actors were afraid of them.

Now, the CFPB is a patsy for those same bad actors, and we’re already seeing the fallout.

Navy Federal Credit Union illegally charged servicemembers $80 million in overdraft fees and was ordered to refund them by the CFPB in 2024. Then Trump took office, and earlier this month, the CFPB dismissed the refund orders. None of those Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, or Guardians are getting their refunds.

We knew what Trump thought of us before: “suckers” and “losers” who sacrificed their youth, their health, and their lives for this country. Now, they’re showing us what they think out in public, in the open — screwing us, day-in, day-out.

If they think we’re going to let them get away with that, they’ve got another thing coming.

Defeating Trump and his MAGA candidates means reaching the Veterans and Military Families they are so intent on screwing over. It’s a massive challenge, and VoteVets has a ton of work to do. Majorities in the House and Senate depend on it.
