Friend,
I have to be honest, it's hard asking for your support at a time like this.
For one thing, it’s the middle of summer. If you’re not locked in on the daily goings on Capitol Hill, or reading Politico, it’s very easy to want to check out for a bit altogether for a nice vacation.
For another thing, the House is frozen in place: Mike Johnson is cancelling votes, recessing the House of Representatives for a month because he doesn’t want the GOP to vote on releasing the Epstein Files – because we all have a good idea what’s in there.
But, friend, it’s how we operate during the slower times that dictate what we can do when we have our best chance for major change. We can't just sit around and hope things eventually work out in our favor – not with the future of working folks in IL-17 at stake.
Trump and his allies want nothing more than catching us in a lull, and hoping we’ll forget this moment in time by next year – after they’ve kicked millions off of healthcare and food assistance programs, and while denying due process for a conspiracy they heated up.
That’s why just last week, national Republicans started attacks against me in their bid to hand my House seat to a Trump acolyte. I'm hoping to send a message of resilience by raising $20,000 before the end of July to show them we won’t be caught sleeping, and nullify their attacks.
That’s where you come in:
Please send in an urgent donation of $3 today. With everything going on, it’s not about how much you give. What matters is coming together and saying we refuse to let extremism win the day.
