I wish this were a joke – but it’s not: Republicans just voted to eliminate every dollar of federal funding for PBS and NPR.
This would affect programs like:
* PBS NewsHour
* Morning Edition
* Sesame Street
As well as the local emergency alerts that can be a lifeline for rural families.
Apparently, Trump’s definition of “radical woke propaganda” now includes Elmo. Cool.
Let’s be clear: This isn’t about budgets or Big Bird. It’s about power. It’s about silencing independent journalism. It’s about gutting public education. And it’s about pushing a right-wing agenda that hurts working families so the rich can get richer.
I’m standing up to Trump’s chaos agenda and fighting to protect NPR, PBS, and every station that brings reliable information to Michigan communities.
