Hey there,

Yesterday, Kentucky held its primary to nominate a Democrat to take on Mitch McConnell later this year in the U.S. Senate race. But because of the coronavirus pandemic, a massive number of voters cast their ballots by mail this year - pushing turnout to a record high.

Due to the high turnout and with many ballots still in the mail, only 10-15% of ballots have been counted so far, and it's likely to be several days or even a full week before we know with certainty who will be the Democratic nominee: Former fighter pilot Amy McGrath or progressive state legislator Charles Booker.

In the meantime, Amy and Charles have both put their campaigns on pause. Neither is running any ads right now. And neither is fundraising. But not Mitch McConnell.

While Democrats wait for full results from the primary, Mitch McConnell just launched a massive new state-wide TV ad buy today - drowning the Kentucky airwaves in lies about his record. And for the first time ever during this entire campaign, Mitch's lies are now going completely unanswered.

We can't afford a setback like this. We can't afford to allow McConnell to lie to voters while Democrats are put in a holding pattern. We can't afford to allow Mitch to keep taking massive checks from corporate PACs, Wall Street, the NRA, and Big Oil while Democrats pause their fundraising efforts. If we're going to defeat the most powerful man in Washington and Ditch Mitch, we cannot afford to take an entire week off.

That's why I just authorized brand-new TV, radio, and digital ads against Mitch McConnell - holding him accountable. That's why we're still fundraising to support whoever the Democratic nominee is. And that's why our end-of-quarter FEC fundraising deadline is more critical now than ever.

We need to raise $750,000 before June 30th to hit our goal, have the resources to keep our ads up, and help Democrats defeat Mitch McConnell this November, but right now we're still $185,848 short - with time running out.
