Friends,
I told you I’d be reaching out about critical upcoming races, and I’m so grateful that so many of you are already joining this effort to win big in Virginia in November.
Today I want to share with you some of the Democratic candidates for Virginia House of Delegates who need your support most right now:
* Elizabeth Guzman (HD-22) [[link removed]] — Elizabeth is a former state delegate and champion for working families who’s running to flip her district blue.
* Delegate Josh Thomas (HD-21) [[link removed]] — Josh is a Marine Corps veteran and attorney running to defend his seat in a competitive district.
* May Nivar (HD-57) [[link removed]] — May is a business leader and daughter of immigrants who’s running to flip a district that’s considered the top pick-up opportunity for Democrats.
* Lily Franklin (HD-41) [[link removed]] — Lily came within 187 votes of flipping this seat in 2023, and she’s ready to flip it blue this fall and fight for economic opportunity for all.
* Delegate Joshua Cole (HD-65) [[link removed]] — Josh is a local pastor who helped flip the House of Delegates in 2023 and is defending his seat this fall.
* Leslie Mehta (HD-73) [[link removed]] — Leslie is a strong advocate for access to affordable health care, an attorney, and a champion of justice for all who’s fighting to flip her district blue.
* Jessica Anderson (HD-71) [[link removed]] — After narrowly losing in 2023, Jessica is returning to the ballot this year to flip her district and push for high-quality education and affordable housing.
* Lindsey Dougherty (HD-75) [[link removed]] — After seeing the impacts of DOGE cuts firsthand, Lindsey is running to flip her district blue, fight back against extremism, and give Virginians a strong voice in Richmond.
* Kimberly Pope Adams (HD-82) [[link removed]] — In 2023, Kimberly came within just 53 votes of unseating a Republican incumbent, and this fall she’s running to ensure all working families have economic stability and a thriving future.

So many of these races can come down to just a handful of votes. In my first-ever election for Richmond City Council back in 1994, I unseated the incumbent by just 97 votes! So I can tell you firsthand that whatever you can do to support these candidates has the power to make a real difference in their campaigns.
I’ll keep updating you on the candidates and races that need your help — and I really appreciate your generous support as we all work together to defend our Democratic majority in the House of Delegates and flip all three statewide offices in November!
Sincerely,
Tim
