Today’s teams are in constant flux—reshaped by both internal dynamics and external pressures. And yet many leaders push forward without pausing to reset after a team change.

Syria fighting reveals US-Israel tensions
One month ago, while announcing US airstrikes targeting Irans nuclear program, President Donald Trump said that he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had worked together as a team like perhaps no team has ever worked before. This was notable because Trump had just publicly discouraged Israeli strikes against Iran almost up until the moment that they began, and because as I wrote in May in the first few months of his administration, the US and Israel often did not appear to be on the same page about regional conflict.

Want higher pay? Don't change jobs
For years, Americas job market has rewarded the footloose. The surest route to a higher salary, the usual advice goes, is to string together a series of one- or two-year stints, each paying a bit better than the last. Career gurus on TikTok set videos of their own salary progression to jaunty pop beats, cloaking online bragging as guidance for the uninitiated. On Reddit, posters debate just how little time in a role a job-hopper can get away with before future employers might start to fret about disloyalty. (A year or so is the consensus, though a brave few argue for six months.)

A Federal Trial Reveals the Sprawling Plan Behind Trumps Attacks on Pro-Palestinian Students
In April, U.S. District Judge William Young, who sits in Boston, made a procedural ruling from the bench that seemed to catch the lawyers in the courtroom by surprise. Like many other judges these days, Young had convened a hearing to consider whether to grant a preliminary injunctionwhich, in the normal course, would put a quick stop to an illegal or otherwise unconstitutional government policy. By one count, in the first seventy days of Donald Trumps Presidency, forty-six judges across the country have issued this kind of order, preventing the Administration from forging ahead with its move-fast-and-break-things style of governance. The purpose behind these orders is to prevent imminent, irreparable harm to the plaintiffs and allow courts additional time to assess the legality of the challenged action.

Russian lawmakers pass a bill punishing online searches for information deemed to be 'extremist'
Russian lawmakers have approved a bill that punishes online searches for information that is deemed "extremist," the latest move by government authorities in their relentless crackdown on dissent. The bill passed by the lower house moves to its all-but-certain endorsement in the upper chamber and then to President Vladimir Putin to be signed into law. The legislation punishes what it describes as "deliberately searching for and accessing extremist materials" online. First-time offenders face a fine of up to about $64. Officials define extremist activity broadly and it includes opposition groups like the one created by late opposition leader Alexei Navalny and the "international LGBT movement."
