Yesterday, New York and Kentucky held key primary races. And we learned a lot from them.

We witnessed firsthand the growing strength of the progressive movement. We saw wins in New York: Mondaire Jones took NY-17, Ritchie Torres won NY-15 on his path to fill José Serrano’s open seat, and Jamaal Bowman blew out incumbent Eliot Engel to take New York’s 16th congressional district. And while we wait on more results to roll in from Kentucky’s primary for the U.S. Senate, it still remains a competitive race between Amy McGrath and Charles Booker. The message is clear: progressives are surging across the country.

Progressives are winning and with your support, I will be next on July 14th! [[link removed]]

Despite being vastly outspent by their moderate opponents and supported by the political establishment, these progressive Democrats pulled off impressive victories because they stand up for people and the issues that matter. And I’m telling you, John, Maine is next. We’re a small state, and with the kind of grassroots campaign I’m running along with Maine’s ranked-choice voting system where people can vote their hopes not their fears, we have a great chance to win.

Can you support my campaign right now to keep this momentum going? Grassroots campaigns are winning campaigns. [[link removed]]

These victories are revitalizing. They re-instill hope that our country can move in the right direction and remind us that we still have a long way to go. That’s why I’m counting on your support today [[link removed]] – to ensure we see the same change happen here in Maine. Thank you for all you’ve done to help my campaign so far, and I hope I can rely on you again today.

In solidarity,

Betsy Sweet
